BLUE ME AWAY~

Overnight I got today's blog title, Blue Me Away, and dreamed images of butterflies and words/worlds to come.

Signing in today, I noticed the time, I don't always notice the "time."  2:22 PM July 30, 2015 was the readout.  I chuckled as I reached for *Healing with the Angels book by Doreen Virtue and read about the number sequence 222:  Our newly planted ideas are beginning to grow into reality....Keep holding positive thoughts, keep affirming, and continue visualizing."

NOW I remembered ** Deepak Chopra had said something several days ago about "out of the blue" on his spoken introduction to The Secret of Being meditation.  I looked it up online and heard:

"The deepest secrets can be hidden behind the simplest things....Everyone has had that experience of expanded awareness.  Out of the Blue you feel free, unbounded, blissful, and awestruck....The poet Wordsworth speaks about a higher reality....'streaming clouds of glory.' "

I pondered:  This poetic state of being, living, thinking, and feeling is present in moments, insights, flashes, sustained research, or even daydreaming by creative individuals in all fields.

Blue Me Away again:
Then I opened today's meditation with Oprah and Deepak and saw a posted picture of a cave, swirls of rock pointed to an opening, light emerged.  Best of all was the neon bright dark and lighter blues of swirling water skimming over the rocks inside the cave.  I felt the coldness of the cave, but enjoyed the warm circle of light appearing.  I have had these cave images many time during meditations.  Most recently an abundance of boat mind pictures have also appeared.  These are always empty flat rowboats with no oars.  They come in various colors. Where will they take us?

GINGHAM GIRLS AND THE CALICO DOG

Long long ago I sat on a comfortable soft sofa in my Aunt Lela's home.  I gazed up at the cream colored ceiling with polished dark wood cross beams.  I felt the luster of the grand piano.  I loved the hand carved  CooCoo clock  from Germany's Back Forest.  I loved the little wooden bird that sang on time.  Aunt Lela read me the Raggedy Ann and Andy stories illustrated with wonderful paintings. I especially liked the painted stitching of hand sewing around the doll's and their clothing.

My favorite story as a four year old was of course, The Gingham Dog and the Calico Cat!

Aunt Lela was a multi-talented woman: an artist, singer, pianist, and gardener.  She was sprightly yet assertive.  She looked and acted  like (wait for it) Shirley MacLaine!  I was already the artist painting pictures in my imagination and looking forward to paint and brushes.  Aunt Lela introduced me to oil painting.  Her stunning paintings graced every wall.  We studied flowers in her rock garden and painted them with tiny brushes and mixed our colors precisely, Aunt Lela and I.

Dream Walking
Years rolled along, I started practicing then teaching Tai Chi, my life changed in surprising ways.  I started to paint vision dreams, waking and sleeping, and write about them.  I met wondrous friends along the way.  I remember a vivid full color dream where Caroline and I were together, little cherub girls about five years old.   We were both dressed in blue and white checkered gingham dresses with white pinafores.  We were smiling and happy.  Caroline and I played in fluffy clouds.  We were being cared  for by beings of light in long white filmy gowns.  Neither we nor the light forms sprouted wings.  It was nap time for us and the other little cherubs.  Being rule breakers, we pretended to nap (giggle).

One of the other girls woke up and said, "Look, a Silver Wolf~"

Playing With Clouds
In the dream I recognized my Silver Collie, Sky!  He was fully grown and in full coat, groomed and ready to play.  I slipped out of bed and called Sky..  He trotted over to us, smiling and waving his plumy tail.  Sky had a bright silver leash (silver cord) attached to his collar.  The leash was made out of flexible comfortable material.  I picked up the leash. It felt familiar in my hands.  We walked with Sky through the fluffy misty clouds. Sky was smiling his delighted Collie Smile. Other girls joined us in the fun.

What A Great Dream!  Eagerly I E-mailed Caroline.  "I have had this dream many times!  Once on TV I saw a group of girls walking a (wait for it) Silver Wolf!"  I was speechless at this reply.

Cloud Walking
Later I lost touch with Caroline for several years.  Then she E-mailed me!  "I do remember our shared dream.  Sounds wonderful walking through the clouds with our animal companions....There is something special about clouds, Cloud Babies on TV (U.K.) "wash the sun, and paint the colours on the rainbow, and launch shooting stars into the sky at bedtime."

Caroline continues:  "There is a girl walking a puppy that looks like Sky when I walk my son to school in the morning.  It is lively and friendly and wants to play with everyone."

"Do you ever wonder what fills the empty spaces?"

TIME DELAY

Powerless

I was running "on time" the other evening, organizing efficiently and looking forward to some writing "time."

Suddenly:  everything came into stark silence as the overhead light switched "off."

"Oh No...."

A sudden power failure happened.  Since rapid spontaneous events occurred, how will we adjust our unscheduled evening?

Dusk approaching:  find and place flashlights "now." Finish eating "now"  Put night items in easy reach "now. "Brush teeth "now."

According to authorities, the power might be back on around midnight.  A cold front had brown in.  It may be chilly tonight.  Get an extra light blanket.

We settled down for gentle conversations and reflecting back at our lives just like "old time" folks sitting on their porches before electric lights were "born."

Darkness crept over us like a comforting gentle blanket.  Sitting still is a challenge.  I felt creeping around in the dark left me feel a bit disoriented.  On my way to pull the drapes, I saw Jupiter and Venus in the fading light of the Western sky.  I stood and watched them set.  They vanished quickly into the arms of silhouetted trees.  I noticed with joy that a couple of street light were still lit.

Sitting down again, I began to see silver spots of street light glow spattered against our sandstone brick living room wall.  I leaped up with joy and began to study the spots of shimmering light.  I thought back to many years ago when moonlight light flickering on a wall formed itself into an imaginary Silver Butterfly shape.

It was restful to sit in silence, free of motors, music, TV, or appliances running.

Bedtime came quickly.  I kept the window blinds open to get a bit of street light into the room.  Once in the night, the street lights flickered and went out leaving total darkness.

"That's when they disconnected the main line to reconnected our line before full power could be restored," my husband told me later.

Still, we had ten hours without our power connections.  Thanks to the chilly night, our food remained safe.

VACATION DAY

Gold and Green

Last Tuesday, July 7 I took a Vacation Day!  Even better, taking the day off was unplanned!  First I enjoyed our regular Tai Chi and Qigong group and welcomed new students.  I decided to lead them through the * Eight Pieces of Brocade, (Ba Duan Jin) since they are also practice Yoga.  Eight Brocades, 1000 years old,  has many strength building and relaxing properties of Yoga practice, "Chinese Yoga."

I returned home from Tai Chi group, refreshed, relaxed, energized and full of "plans" for the day ahead!  Morning had dawned grey, lush, damp, and humid, but a magic clearing cold front with breeze swept the sky clean.  Fresh bright blue appeared.  The air was so clear and pure it felt like Mountain Air on Long's Peak in Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park!  All the windows and doors opened to admit breeze, light, and energy.  I ate lunch looking out at the fresh vibrant green and crisp gold sunlight dappling the yard and chuckled when the face of an imaginary large wire haired terrier dog appeared in the flickering images on the ground.  Even more exciting, I envisioned a tiger crouching by our oak tree trunk!  So captured by the moment, I didn't even grab the camera~

Lunch Over:  Well, what do ya know?  I abandoned my "plans" for the day and just winged it~I felt freedom and peace and breathed in nature at its very best....

THE BIG THREE

The Big Three:  Shifting Again....

What Are The Big Three?

They are all equally important.  I'll list them in Alphabetical order.

Chocolate represents enjoyment (smile)

Meditation/Meditative Writing represent going within, setting intention, clarifying goals, balancing intuitive right brain and logical left brain activity.

Francesca told me, "With twice a day meditation, you are bracketing your day with positive feedback both morning and evening"

Tai Chi, Qigong, Yoga, Meditative Painting represent integrated exercises for better physical and mental outlook, strength, flexibility of mind and body, and added relaxation.

The Eagle Flies

What changed?  In the early spring I switched up my "schedule" again.

Changes:

Chocolate Enjoyment
I increased to eating 1 oz daily (1/2 oz twice a day) of semi melted unsweetened chocolate.
Guess what happened?  I absolutely "lost" my craving for luscious frozen custard!  That result was totally unplanned.  My husband also noticed the same result!

Meditation Twice A Day
Once a day meditation was not quite enough to impart calm and focus.
"Soaking Prayer/Music/Toning" all of these in quiet (sometimes inaudible) music playing in the "background" as I write or paint helps focus.

Journal "Writing on Tablets" (chuckle "scrolls")  "See" Your Vision/Write Your Vision
Habakkuk 2:1-2

* Integrative Exercises Tai Chi/Qigong/Yoga as needed.
Taught by a friend, a new Qigong class meets three times a week!  We work through ancient exercises from at least 1,000 years ago such as introduction to the 8 Gates and the 5 Steppings (13 postures), 8 pieces of Brocade (Ba Duan Jin) and three varieties of 18 Form Taiji Qigong, (Shi Ba Shi) developed recently in the 1980's.

Adding this class to my Yang Style Long Form Group,  (108 synchronized movements) "I'm not used to this much exercise...."  Again, slow down, take time and get enough rest after class.  My energy is building up again.  Rest Restores.  When I attend classes, taught by another and hearing a beautiful background of Chinese Music,  I receive full meditative and health benefits from the Qigong.  I also learned this last year in a Yoga class, for one hour I could stretch and breathe and receive meditation benefits.

"How will I do all I want to do?"

"Maybe have to cut and paste for awhile...."
