MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE~ PREQUEL

MEMORY JAR

This post is a prequel to the following story: A JAR, (published July 8 2021) a bit of background here~

The original Memory Jar from the post * Message In A Bottle was published on this blog, Out of the Blue,  on Jan 13, 2913.  What Fun!  Just beginning to collect memories then with a few positive notes and now she expands to a fully stuffed jar!

I picked out a written message at random and it read:

"SOMETIMES I AMAZE ME!"

When I see this original jar, and hold it in my hands, I think of my young as a child and her father working together on the small farm.  I can feel the barn and the horse and buggy and the cow and a few chickens, a small and rustic farm.

I always loved the **aqua blue jars, made in Indiana USA from local sands that surprisingly contained chemicals that spontaneously spawned the glorious colors in the glass.

I will sift through the message memories when "time and space permit" and add some new ones:

What will they be?

STAND LIKE A TREE

THERES IS A PLEASURE IN THE PATHLESS WOODS

ALL IS WELL

KEEP MOVING FORWARD, ONE STEP AT A TIME, QUIETLY AND SLOWLY

HELP IS HERE

A JAR

It has/is a jarring "time" for everyone~ identity disruption, hobbies derailed, "free time" to relax?

Gone But Not Forgotten.

Shadow Land

"Sorting through STUFF"  the stuff has increased exponentially.  Where does it come from? "Time to Sort?  Paint?  Write?  Think?  Think Again?  Overthink?

Underwhelmed/Overwhelmed by "reality"

VANISHED

To Minimize Plastic, why not switch to glass mason jars for water storage?  I Have jars of many colors and sizes, from years ago!

Of course I do~ I love jars!

 Especially  * BLUE JARS!

"Little Jars all in a Row" and Bigger ones too~

Invisible Jar

Some months ago, I had an opportunity to take over filling the glass mason jars with fresh filtered water every day.

HOW AM I GOING TO DO THAT?

I "thought" the task and hand/hands through thoroughly.  I'd have to be strong enough and confident enough to pick up the jars, carefully, and with two hands gripping, fill each jar quickly but not rapidly.  I'd have to be in sharp focus, no daydream in case a "jar" slipped through my slippery wet hands.

The Jars would have to be in "perfect order" and  set up for easier lifting into the resting place cupboard.  Again, total focus.  Quiet, Clear, Precise. "Just like painting~ relaxed alertness."

I'll try one small jar first. and see how it goes.  Just one jar the first day.  It worked!  I am ready!  I felt like "fetching water" in the "old days" and marveled at the calming effect of the lineup of jars waiting to happen.

JAR MANAGEMENT

Sort of like an assembly line.

Sort of like a science project.

Sort of like a science lab with beakers, empty and full.

"Mom's Science Lab, Mom ain't here."

WATER MANAGEMENT

The sounds of water entering into the jars is like music, and the frequencies emitted changed as the jars filled.  Letting me know when it was time to switch jars.  SO calming~  Like Painting.  My hands move with dexterity, holding a jar instead of a paint brush.  I felt like the water was like a running fresh spring.

Pick up a jar, move a full jar to a new location, swiftly yet deftly pick up another empty jar and gently fill it.  When all are filled "in exact order."  Pick up the full jars one at a time, with two hands, and move to the next step.

Pretty Jars (sort of) All In A Row~

Lid City!

LID MANAGEMENT

"All" the chosen jars, be they Mason, Ball, or Atlas combinations thereof, in my case, use the same size lids, BPA free and made by the  *Ball Jar company, long lasting and dishwasher safe (top rack) AND I even have a (wait for it) Lid Washer Basket!

Pretty Lids all in a row and color coded besides.  The color of the lids can be a clue as to what batch the water came from.  For example, jars topped with white lids may be used before the
"newer refill" of jars with blue lids in the back row, hence the pick up order on the shelf, and water is used "in perfect order" so always fresh water is appearing at the right "time" and rotation of jars is accurate.

I know!  It's over focused thinking, but "Hey!" **Alton Brown is grinning.

The "Jarring" daily experience leaves me with a calming moment...Painting with Water!  I also noted my shoulders, arms, and fingers all got stronger as well as dexterity and eye hand coordination.  Ability to place lids securely on jars and double check them "feel" like putting paint tube tops back on paints after a session!  What Fun!

MEMORY JAR

A large blue quart Ball Perfect Mason Jar used by my Paternal Grandfather on the farm from many years ago greets me with "memories" jotted on bookmarks made of colored note cards cut lengthwise.  Filling the jar:  Poem lines appear here as do Song Titles and Music Phrases and Painting Ideas and Dreams and more.

*** "Looking Through Windows" I have a suitcase/freight train full of memories TIME AFTER TIME

I have a Blue Jar full of memories I almost left behind...."Time After Time"
