"Friendship is a Sheltering Tree," Samuel Taylor Coleridge
* Lake Cliff Garden, a poem by Isabel Jackson
A vast inland sea
a bluff looming above
five acres of gardens
each garden, a room
Black and White
Sculpture Meadow
Bog and Conifer
Hellebore Hill
Agave Tapestry
Autumn Border
Asian Collection
Lake Garden
Grand Tropical Summer Border
Design, form, function of creativity
color, color, color, color
compatibility, congruence,
tiny and ground-close
large to huge, tall, tall, taller
trees and bushes and vines
leaves of every shape, shade, size, pattern
sculptures: metal, stone, wood, glass
encompassing beauty at every turn
detailed in arrangement
Height, depth, fullness
embodiment of artist's vision
of thought, plans, work, waiting
selecting sculptures, benches, stones
shifting perspective
At bluff's edge, white crushed rock
backdrop for glass balls
blue and green, playfully arranged
beyond, blue lake, distant sails
expanse of clear sky.
God is here!
"The creation of a thousand forests in is one acorn," Ralph Waldo Emerson
"There is pleasure in the pathless woods," Byron
