PERCEPTIONS

*  "If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear... as it is, infinite,"  William Blake

A Tai Chi student presented me with a surprise gift The vase from Kenya is hand carved and hand painted.  I marveled at the energy and patterns of the African plains.

I saw (hands down) "Animal Print~"   Cheetah, Zebra, Giraffe

Rob saw:  Cheetah spots as "black leafy forms"

Zebra stripes as "roots and branches"

Giraffe pattern as "parched desert, cracked with dryness."

Our separate perceptions are rooted in life experiences, me the animal painter, Rob, the stone cutter and plant expert.  All visions are beautiful~expanding our worlds.

"All is possible With the Mind," Paul Lam M.D.

** Last week, we connected to DOGTV.  This channel  shifts perceptions to a "dogs' eye view" of earth and water.  Commercial free, meditative, minimal talking, with added quiet musical tones calm and entertain in cities, parks, trails, woods and fields.  Shifting seasonal scenes from nature:  oceans, lakes, mountains and desserts dot the landscapes.  Many birds and animals, wild and tame, are also pictured.

We love it and so do our cats!  (yes cats).

** DOGTV, through DirectTV or Facebook.  Wikipedia: "The programming, created with the help of dog behavior specialists, is color adjusted to appeal to dogs.  Segments are 3-6 minutes, to relax, stimulate, and expose the dog to everyday life such as riding in a car or hearing a doorbell."  "Color adjusted" for dogs?  I note our cats prefer certain colors above others.  They also instinctively know how to match and blend with their surroundings.
