Mystical, Winter on the Lakeshore
* Poem by Isabel Brady Jackson
Moon,
Is this the way your surface looks?
Ice crags and slopes
and floating alabaster craft
bizarrely shaped and silent
under a great white glow
casting blue shadows
of slowly moving figures?
I am in the moon and on it
yet in and of the earth:
a spell is fallen on me
and everything under the heavens;
enmity and unease have been dispelled
This majestic, magic moonlit night:
shaded, yet illuminated mystery,
fixed in memory
